This dream destination has all kinds of restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, whether continental cuisine to the most exquisite Asian specialties. There are restaurants with live or recorded music, as well as restaurants without music for those who prefer a quiet atmosphere or with a show for those who like more action.

There are formal or informal restaurants, as far as the dress code in concerned, from elegant and luxury to simple cafeterias, pizzerias and cafés, but all of them with convenient opening hours. There is Mexican traditional food, yucatecan cuisine, American style restaurants such as Planet Hollywood, Outback Steak House, Rainforest Café or Hard Rock Café; Italian cuisine: Mama Roma, La Dolce Vita; Mexican cuisine: Los Pericos, Zandunga, La Parrilla, Ok Maguey; fase food: Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, Dominos Pizza, Mc Donald's, Burger King and Subway; seafood: Bucaneros, Carrillos, El Pescador, Shrimp Bucket, Faros, Lorenzillos, Mango Tango, Splash, The Cove.

Public Transportation
The most common means of transportation are taxis and urban buses. Taxis are available 24 hours a day and can be found in all hotel lobbies. They don’t have a taxi meter so we recommend you check the price before taking one. The public transportation is made up of over 100 Mercedes Benz and Dina buses, equipped with 41 comfortable seats and wide aisles. Buses run 24 hours a day. There are pre-established bus stops, tickets are $7 pesos or 70 cents per person.

Airlines
The most famous commercial airlines leave from Cancún: American Airlines, Delta, Continental, Northwest, Varig, Lacsa, Mexicana, Aeromexico, Magnicharter, Azteca, Aviacsa and Lan Chile.

Banks
Tourists can change their dollars or travelers checks easily, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, sometimes also on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. Banamex, BBVA Bancomer, HSBC, Santander Sefin, Scotiabank Inverlat.

Telephone and Post Office
There are long distance pay phones, for national and international long distance calls, with specific indications on how to dial and rates. A Ladatel phone card is required. The post office is located downtown, by Mercado 28.

Hospitals
No special vaccinations are required to travel to Cancun . There are hospitals and clinics everywhere in Cancun and all kinds of specialists. The major hotels have doctors on duty 24 hours a day.

Shopping Malls in the hotel zone
The shopping malls offer a wide variety of domestic and imported products, from duty-free imported perfumes, to designer brands. Mexican handicrafts are among the favorite items, whether fine palm hats, baskets, gold and silver jewelry, fine leather items, until guayaberas (typical shirts), hammocks, sandals and in general , beautiful objects made of clay, ceramic and blown glass , that are produced in Mexico.
Prices vary from one store to the other, but they remain quite similar and reasonable. Shopping malls usually open 10 am to 9 or 10 pm. Plaza Flamingos, Kukulcan Plaza, Plaza Forum by the Sea, Plaza Mayafair, Plaza Caracol, Plaza Terramar, Plaza la Fiesta, Plaza la Isla and Plaza Coral Negro are located in the hotel zone.

Public beaches
The 25 kilometers of beach belong to the nation and are open to everybody. The sand is white and soft and the sea is turquoise blue. The surf can be quite strong on the open sea beaches, so we recommend being careful. The most popular beaches are Playa Delfines, Playa Ballenas, Playa Marlin, Playa Chacmool, Playa Caracol, Playa Tortugas, Playa Langosta and Playa Linda.

Convention Center
It is located in the heart of the hotel zone and surrounded by a luxury shopping mall, first-class restaurants, bars and discos. Cancun Convention Center is the most modern building in Latin America , with 6,000 square meters of meeting rooms. Important meetings, congresses, exhibitions and conventions take place in its 22 rooms and its 2 large rooms known as the Grand Cancún, for 3,300 persons and the Cozumel room, for up to 1,600 persons. There are also a VIP room and a press room. The Center provides everything, from decoration, stands, audiovisuals, organizing a video conference or install a closed circuit.

Discos
There are fabulous options to listen to music or dance. Some places cover several types of music, such as jazz, rock, reggae, tropical (merengue, salsa and cumbia) and mariachis.
